Pattern Name
TRUSTED SPACE (Warburton, Bergin, Kohls, Köppe, & Mor, 2016, p. 3)
Pattern Language
Dialogical Assessment Patterns for Learning from Others
Category
This pattern is a meta-pattern. It helps to establish a learning environment, where formative feedback and assessment can emerge.
Active Role
Teacher
Summary
Sometimes learners hesitate to share their work with peers. Therefore, the INVISIBLE TEACHER creates an encouraging learning environment, where students feel safe to share their learning artefacts and to receive FEEDBACK on it (Bergin, Kohls, Köppe, & Mor, 2016, p. 3f.).
Example for Technological Support
FAQs could help here, as well. Further automatized guiding tools (like chat-bots) could be helpful, but such an infrastructure goes often beyond the possibilies of teachers or schools. Learning analytics can be another scaffolding tool for guidance on the learning path.
